The Southwest Florida Water Management District, Tampa Electric Company, the Tampa Audubon Society, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops helped with the removal of invasive species and the planting of a variety of native estuarine habitats at three sites of the Newman Branch Creek Fisheries Habitat. This project reconnected existing ponds to Newman Branch Creek so that it can return to a productive fish nursery.",
