  "projectDescription": "The Hanalei Watershed Hui, in partnership with the NOAA Restoration Center, intends to restore both estuarine and lower stream habitat in the ahupua'a of Waipa, Hanalei, Kauai.  Invasive vegetation and sediment will be removed from 3-5 acres of estuarine habitat to reestablish the area as a functioning nursery ground.  Invasive vegetation will be removed from  the lower Waipa Stream to expose approximately 100 meters of gravel bottom habitat.  The riparian area of Waipa Stream will be revegetated with native plants by community volunteers.  Following restoration, project successes will be measured by monitoring water quality and macrofaunal utilization of the habitats.",
