"projectDescription": "The Florida Gulf Coast University, in partnership with the NOAA Restoration Center, restored oyster reef habitat in Southwest Florida-Western Everglades estuaries. Ten oyster reefs were restored within Henderson Creek, Estero Bay and the Caloosahatchee Estuary. Close to 200 community, teacher, and student volunteers contributed more than 1,200 hours to help establish multiple small-scale restoration demonstration projects, as well as an oyster gardening program and a monitoring program for the evaluation of restoration success.",
