Construction and planting of 55,170 linear feet of terraces will reduce wave energy, protecting existing shoreline and promoting sediment deposition and establishment of additional emergent marsh.  Sediment distribution channels will also be dredged to carry freshwater and nutrients to the marshes from Four-Mile Canal and the Vermilion River.",
