  "projectDescription": "This project increased tidal flow to 1.5 acres of salt marsh and regraded approximately 5,000 square feet of marsh to a lower elevation to allow better growth of native salt marsh vegetation near Mallard Road in Quincy, Massachusetts. A new management plan for a downstream hydraulic tide gate was also developed. Overall, this project restored aquatic functions to approximately 6 acres of salt marsh. The project restores important habitat for a wide range of fish and invertebrate species including striped killifish, sheepshead minnows, and American eels. The creation of salt marsh pannes in the restored marsh is expected to provide high quality habitat for marsh fish and wading birds such as great blue herons, snowy egrets, and migratory shore birds.",
