"projectDescription": "The Brazilian pepper plant is an extremely adaptive plant that was introduced to Florida as an ornamental shrub and has since invaded and replaced native mangrove and upland habitat in the Indian River Lagoon. This project restored areas in Indian River Lagoon by removing Brazilian pepper and replanting native shoreline vegetation. A total of seven acres was restored. In addition, the funds received for the project supported the development of a field restoration manual for distribution to other volunteer groups throughout Florida.",
