  "projectDescription": "This project addressed the issue of invasive species along the coast of Massachusetts by developing an organized invasive species monitoring program.  An inventory of marine invasive species was created to improve tracking and restoration efforts. In the pilot year of the Wetland Health Assessment Toolbox (WHAT) program, forty-eight citizen volunteers were trained to monitor six parameters at four salt marsh sites.  Over three summers, the WHAT program proved to be highly successful in training volunteers in these field techniques and in facilitating environmental stewardship and restoration.",
