The project replaced a 36-inch culvert beneath an active railroad line with a 10-foot by 10-foot concrete box culvert (Phase I) and an existing 4-foot by 5-foot box culvert beneath a state road was replaced with a 10-foot by 10-foot concrete box culvert (Phase II). Tidal flushing was restored to approximately 40 acres of the salt marsh within a state-designated Area of Critical Environmental Concern.",
