  "projectDescription": "The Nature Conservancy, in cooperation with People for Puget Sound, and local, state, and tribal partners surveyed over 34 miles of shoreline and removed 6.25 acres of invasive Spartina anglica weeds from over 450 acres of marsh. Spartina anglica is a non-indigenous species to Puget Sound that invades mudflats, low energy beaches, and will overgrow native salt marsh vegetation resulting in reduced forage opportunities for native species including endangered chinook salmon and bull trout. The state crews focused their efforts on chemical control of large meadows and community work parties tackled larger invasions.",
