  "projectDescription": "In order to prevent the spread of pike into other parts of the Swanson River and protect the salmon habitat, a permanent control structure was built at the mouth of Stormy Lake. Through the efforts of volunteers, they also reduced pike populations in the lake by netting regularly and donating the fish to local food banks. During this project approximately 1,500 pike were captured and much information on the feasibility of pike control was gained.",
