  "projectDescription": "This project has increased habitat and water quality in the Chesapeake Bay through the establishment of \"mini\" oyster reefs under community participant's private docks. Local citizens, school groups, and scientists worked together to build a network of small natural oyster reef communities at different locations throughout the Bay. The 9 reefs provide fish and crab habitat, reduce shoreline erosion, filter the water of nutrients and plankton and serve as new recruitment sites for future generations of oysters.",
