"projectDescription": "The goal of this project was to enhance the riparian habitat by removing non-native invasive species and planting native riparian trees and shrubs. Approximately 2,500 native tress and shrubs were planted over a 3-acre area with the assistance of community volunteers. Non-native vegetation was removed along with additional native tree planting along the shoreline of Buck Island. A total of 3 acres of floodplain forest habitat was restored during the project.",
