"description": "Ninigret Pond:640,000 scallops released in 10 acres of Ninigret Pond in 2002. High mortality resulted and acres removed from RCDB in 2005. Total of 2.7 million scallops were free planted with high mortality 2002-03. As a result, a changed spawner sanctuary approach was implemented, in which adult broodstock were protected in spawner cages to increase natural recruitument, system wide. This project was conducted in multiple (three) separate coastal salt ponds. Quantifying acreage is impossible. Abundance of scallops was closely monitored and available. Results were variable between pond and year. -- Count of Plants and Animals: 640,000 -- Acreage Type: original value",
