"projectDescription": "The Stilliguamish Indian Tribe in cooperation with Snohomish County Flood Control and Snohomish Conservation District constructed a tide gate structure to direct tidal flows from the main stem of the Stillaguamish River (often called Hatt Slough) into the Stillaguamish Old Channel. The Tribe and Snohomish County Surface Water Management contacted private land owners along the Old Channel and talked about the benefits to fish of reforesting the Old Channel. The Stilliguamish Tribe's Banksavers Nursery Project supplied plants and labor, supplemented by volunteers and a minimum security prison work crew, and reforested 37 acres of private land along the Old Channel and tributaries of the lower Stillaguamish mainstem.",
