  "projectDescription": "The dam fell into an advanced state of disrepair and was the first blockage to anadromous fishes in West Conewago Creek and considered a high priority for fish passage and removal. The dam was demolished and seven miles of spawning habitat for diadromous fishes was re-opened. Following the removal of the dam, the stream was cleaned up and riparian vegetation was restored. Removal of the dam provided unrestricted fish passage, restored river ecology, and eliminated a serious public safety hazard.",
