"projectDescription": "Jerry’s Creek currently sinks within dredge tailings and only occasionally drains north towards the mainstem Yankee Fork near RM 5.8. The initial concept for the reconnection includes constructing a side channel that provides perennial access for salmonids to the mainstem Yankee Fork with connectivity, and a re-established tributary confluence, to the Jerry’s Creek subwatershed. Reconnecting Jerry’s Creek to the mainstem Yankee Fork would provide fish passage to a currently disconnected tributary and re-establish hydrologic and ecological processes that would again provide habitat, thermal refugia, and forage resources for multiple life stages of native resident and ESA-listed migratory salmonids. NOAA Restoration Center funding would be used to conduct a feasibility assessment, determine potential restoration alternatives, develop a restoration plan, and complete environmental compliance for the project.",
