"projectDescription": "The Tulalip Tribes will remove one partial barrier culvert and replace two more partial barrier culverts on Williams Creek, a tributary to the Pilchuck River, with fish passable structures. In total, 1.5 miles of upstream habitat will be made readily available to migratory fish for adult salmon spawning as well as juvenile salmon rearing. These culverts are being replaced in conjunction with two additional culverts being replaced by Snohomish County downstream (see Lower Williams Creek project), and another adjacent upstream replacement conducted by Snohomish County in 2020. Replacement of all six culverts will remove all barriers on Williams Creek. These Upper Williams culverts are three of 16 culverts the Tulalip Tribes and partners will remove or replace with structures designed to withstand climate change. They will restore connectivity to more than 32 miles of habitat in priority streams for the recovery of salmon.",
