  "projectDescription": "The project sites include the City of Bayou La Batre, unincorporated Coden, and south Mobile County along Portersville Bay located in eastern Mississippi Sound within the Bayou La Batre and West Fowl River watersheds. The purpose of this project is to increase community, environmental, and economic resilience in the underserved Alabama communities in this area along the northern Gulf. Project goals include 1) assessing stormwater infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities potentially impacting these communities in a changing climate, 2) mitigating stormwater impacts threatening coastal water and habitat quality for essential fisheries species, 3) preventing critical coastal shoreline and habitat loss from the impacts of a changing climate, and 4) meaningfully engaging community members to ensure they are integral to the vision and execution of project components.",
