  "projectDescription": "The Nooksack Tribe in collaboration with federal, state and local partners will restore fish habitat and reduce flood hazards on the South Fork Nooksack River near the town of Acme, Washington (known as the Fish Camp Reach) and continue restoration downstream (known as the Hardscrabble-Todd Reach). This effort is part of a large scale river restoration effort on the South Fork to preserve a critically imperiled Spring Chinook Salmon run, while benefiting all anadromous species. The project removes levees and armoring and installs engineered log jams to improve river habitat. In addition the project reduces repeated flood hazard to the town of Acme, and has been developed in collaboration with Whatcom County Flood Control.",
