  "projectDescription": "This project will be led by State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources/Division of AquaticResources (DAR) and is split into three components: field-based coral stabilization, support of a land-based coral nursery facility, and collaborative community co-management of marine resources. The in-situ coral restoration consists of stabilization and replanting of coral fragments at select sites in West Hawaii that have been impacted by bleaching, anchor damage, and other damaging events. Arizona State University (ASU) is leading the design and building of a new ex-situ coral nursery in West Hawaii, and this funding will support the operation of the nursery including staff and other operating costs. The community co-management portion will work in conjunction with TNC and other community organizations in WestHawaii and Maui on collaborative fishery co-management including nearshore fishery observation, enforcement support, and management planning.",
