  "projectDescription": "The Rockafellow Mills Dam is the downstream-most barrier to fish passage on the South Branch River. The dam creates a 13-acre impoundment, resulting in sediment build-up and decreased habitat and water quality. Removing the dam will alleviate these issues. Furthermore, removing the Rockafellow Mills Dam in combination with other Cornell Dubilier Superfund Trustee projects (Headgates, Island Farm Weir) will allow migratory fish to access approximately 55 miles of the South Branch and mainstem Raritan Rivers. Removal of the Rockafellow Mills Dam will also enhance recreational paddling and safety on the South Branch River; paddlers will be able to travel from Clinton, New Jersey all the way to the mainstem of the Raritan River. Funding for the project will be achieved through a Trustees Resolution made by the Cornell Dubilier Superfund Settlement Trustees Council.",
