  "projectDescription": "The Johnson Creek Watershed Council, in close collaboration with the Clackamas Partnership, will conduct 10 restoration projects near Portland in the Clackamas and Lower Willamette Rivers. The work will benefit several threatened salmon species. It will also help reduce community flooding in downstream areas and address safety concerns by improving infrastructure needed for emergency access for local communities.The North Fork Johnson Creek project will open 0.65 stream miles for salmonid passage through the removal of a plugged legacy culvert on an abandoned road on a privately owned farm. Through this project, the culvert and associated road debris will be removed. A roughened channel will then be created to restore a more natural channel gradient. This project will add on to an already opened 2 miles of fish passageway opened from previous projects.",

The focus of this restoration is improving and opening access to freshwater habitat. North Fork was prioritized as addressing limiting factors that affect state and federal listed fish species within the Clackamas watershed population. The SAP is tiered to the Lower Columbia River Conservation and Recovery Plan for Oregon Populations of Salmon and Steelhead (ODFW 2010).
