  "projectDescription": "The Johnson Creek Watershed Council, in close collaboration with the Clackamas Partnership, will conduct 10 restoration projects near Portland in the Clackamas and Lower Willamette Rivers. The work will benefit several threatened salmon species. It will also help reduce community flooding in downstream areas and address safety concerns by improving infrastructure needed for emergency access for local communities.The Johnson Creek Confluence/Milwaukie Bay project is a multi-phased effort to design, permit, and construct approximately 900 feet of large wood complexes in the lowest reach of Johnson Creek including the confluence with the Willamette River for the benefit of both lower and upper Willamette salmon and steelhead. The first phase of this project will design and model site location hydrology and evaluate where and what type of log structures can be installed, including construction implementation techniques. Permits and Final designs are planned to be obtained and completed by June 2025, with construction to be completed during summer 2025. Invasive plant treatment and native plant treatment will follow after construction.",
