  "projectDescription": "The Idaho Office of Species Conservation will improve fish passage in the Poison Creek tributary of the Upper Snake River. The creek provides important cold water habitat for species like chinook salmon and steelhead. Replacing an existing culvert with a bridge will provide ideal summer and winter rearing habitat for chinook, and rearing and spawning habitat for steelhead. The current culvert causes flooding on Highway 93 through rural Idaho, the only transportation route connecting several rural communities to larger cities. The bridge will reduce the potential for a natural disaster to block the culvert and take out the highway.  This is one of four culverts the Idaho Office of Species Conservation is addressing in the  Snake River Basin using IIJA Fish Passage funding.",
