"projectDescription": "Hudson River Park will evaluate the effects of the Gansevoort Peninsula enhanced shoreline, over four sampling seasons, to inform adaptive management within the Park's Sanctuary waters and regionally where applicable. The project proposes a set of three surveys over the course of four years to assess habitat enhancement effects on a) oyster health & performance, b) estuarine community utilization & water quality, and c) salt marsh condition, all while d) engaging interns and community members in hands-on field and research experiences. The proposed activities will also assess the efficacy of both traditional and non-invasive sampling approaches - both on site and in comparison to other habitat enhancement areas - to collect long-term ecological data for evaluating enhancement effects in a shallow and sloping shoreline which provides critical nursery habitat for many fish species of recreational and commercial importance in the Hudson River ecosystem. The Gansevoort Project is inclusive of restoration research, public engagement, and workforce development goals:",
