  "projectDescription": "This project restored the Mary Chase Marsh to a self-sustaining salt marsh by increasing tidal flow to the marsh.  A portion of the stone dike located at the outlet of Abelino Creek was removed in October 2003.  The increased tidal flow will favor the growth of salt marsh species while discouraging the growth of common reed (Phragmites australis) which occupied a large portion of the marsh.",
