"projectDescription": "This project installed 133 pieces of large wood (LW) at 51 structures in 1.25 miles of stream, resulting in a \"good\" LW density rating. Trees were identified by the California Conservation Corps (CCC) Fish Habitat Assistant (FHA) and the Redwood Forest Company (landowner) forester before they were felled. Existing salvage material on the forest floor, such as logs, root wads, and small wood were identified and utilized where applicable. Construction was completed on October 31, 2024. Over the two implementation years (2023 & 2024), CCC crews installed a total of 51 unique instream features consisting of 133 pieces of large wood, including 43 \"key pieces\" as defined in the Final Recovery Plan for the CCC Coho Salmon ESU (NMFS 2012) to meet the large wood target habitat rate of \"Good\" for key pieces/100 meters.",
