"projectDescription": "The award includes 18 projects that support endangered Central California Coast (CCC) coho salmon (NOAA Species in the Spotlight) and threatened CCC steelhead trout in 3 San Mateo County watersheds: San Gregorio, Pescadero, and Gazos Creek. These watersheds have been severely degraded and subjected to disturbances from logging and agriculture, and the area currently experiences severe drought, more intense winter storms, and forest fires. The projects would address fish passage, floodplain connectivity, habitat complexity, spawning and rearing habitat, instream flows, water quality, sediment, channel modification, and road-related erosion. About a third of the projects engage or benefit underserved communities, including the town of Pescadero, a disadvantaged community, which suffers from flooding and a lack of access to a clean, reliable water supply. Two projects will take place on a local land trust property whose current tenant is Te Kwe Anaa Warep Farm, which is managed by a tribal-affiliated non-profit. All individual projects will have their own RCDB records.",
