"projectDescription": "The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla and their partners restored fish passage on the Walla Walla River by replacing irrigation infrastructure and rebuilding the streambed near the irrigation intake. This work eliminated the need for the agricultural landowner to build a seasonal dam to access their water right. Removal of this barrier and previously completed floodplain reconnection restored access to high-quality habitat for ESA-listed steelhead and Chinook. The barrier removal is 1 out of the 9 fish passage projects that the Umatilla Tribe will remove within their ceded territory using Restoration Center funding.",
