  "projectDescription": "The NOAA Restoration Center partnered with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service and the State of Delaware to create a demonstration project to reduce agricultural runoff and create habitat for area wildlife at Pratt Farm in Delaware. Use of fertilizers in agricultural areas has resulted in a high level of nutrients in drainage water making the habitat unfit for most marine organisms. A one mile agricultural ditch network that drained directly into headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay was restored and a series of freshwater wetlands were incorporated to absorb excess nutrients. Native trees, shrubs and warm-season grasses were planted along the creek to serve as a buffer for both nutrients and sediments.",
