"projectDescription": "Through this project, Trout Unlimited and partners enhanced 1.25 miles of the Middle Fork Ten Mile River (locally known as Clark Fork), a high priority stream for CCC Coho Salmon and NC Steelhead Trout recovery. A total of 43 key pieces of wood were installed at 23 individual structure sites along the project reach (total 1.19 acres). Instream structure was provided by falling existing standing timber generally upslope directionally away from the creek and then placed/winched into the active channel. Additional structures were provided by placing appropriately sized salvaged or stockpiled logs and rootwads, as appropriate. At appropriate structures, small woody debris or medium woody debris was placed by hand or with equipment to increase the complexity of individual structures and encourage retention of additional instream debris.",
