  "projectDescription": "The Trustees for the Ceiba Geigy case acquired 41 acres of seasonally flooded bottomland wetlands near the Mobile River, just south of I-65 - referred to as the Rigsby Tract. This tract will serve as a vital connection to nearly 2,000 acres of existing state-owned property, which is located in the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, and primarily comprised of bottomland hardwood habitat including hardwood, cypress, and tupelo. The state-owned property is currently inaccessible from land, and acquisition of the Rigsby Tract will provide access from land, allowing for future habitat enhancement and other restoration activities. Trustees will evaluate the property and the adjacent acreage to determine appropriate site-specific restoration activities, including hydrologic restoration, habitat enhancement, and invasive species removal, which will enhance the properties’ existing ecological values and further offset the injuries to natural resources from the releases of hazardous substances at and from the Ciba-Geigy NPL Site.",
