"projectDescription": "The Freshwater Trust will restore salmon and steelhead habitat on the Clear Fork River, a high priority tributary in the Upper Sandy River Basin, which flows into the Columbia River in Oregon. Restoration on the Clear Fork will restore flow to half a mile of side channels, 29 acres of floodplain and increase habitat complexity with 595 pieces of large woody debris. Species that will benefit from this work include coho salmon, spring and fall Chinook, and winter steelhead, all of which are listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. In partnership with the United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, The Freshwater Trust's restoration efforts across 5 prioritized reaches in the Upper Sandy River Basin will restore flow to 2 miles of side channels, connect more than 100 acres of floodplains, and improve habitat through wood placement on more than 10 miles of stream.",
