"projectDescription": "The Ft. Johnson Living Shoreline project site is located on James Island along Charleston Harbor in Charleston, SC. This site is part of a series of sites that are included in the “Community-based living shoreline creation in the urbanized watershed of Charleston County, South Carolina, USA to support habitat resiliency and ecosystem services” project implemented by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. The eroding upland banks of the Ft. Johnson site was alleviated by the placement of modified crab traps designed to attract oyster spat. This treatments helped stabilize the site while creating oyster reef and intertidal essential fish habitat. This project was installed along 150 linear feet of eroding shoreline and will result in approximately 0.02 acres of oyster reef habitat",
