"projectDescription": "This project involved the construction of a nature-like bypass channel around the Tingue Dam, which restored over 32 miles of historic migratory fish habitat on the Naugatuck River. This habitat benefits American shad, blueback herring, alewife, sea lamprey and American eel. The fishway is a component of a public access project to the Naugatuck River. The project was awarded funding through the American Resource Recovery Act of 2009; funds for the project were also secured from the Housatonic River DARRP case settlement.Additional funding and accomplishment information for this project can be found under ARRA Project Record #2558",
