"projectDescription": "The project created 1,245 acres of wetland habitat (including 1,167 acres of marsh, a 58-acre tidal pond, and 20 acres of tidal creeks) in the Barataria Basin in Louisiana in an area that was open water and highly degraded marsh. One of the project goals was to help re-establish the Barataria Landbridge. Material was dredged from two borrow areas in the Mississippi River and pumped via a long-distance sediment pipeline over 13 miles to build a new wetland platform.",
