  "projectDescription": "The Wild Salmon Center will fix barriers to fish passage on Bagley Creek, a 450-acre subwatershed of the lower Elk River. A lumber mill was removed from Bagley Creek in the early 1990's but multiple features were left in place including a dike, two ponds, and an earthen fill. These features impede or block fish passage, and constrict the stream valley, disrupting the natural flow of the water. This project will remove the legacy mill features to reconnect 6 acres of winter rearing habitat for coho salmon and restore access to 2.13 miles of spawning and rearing habitat. This project is one of several that the Wild Salmon Center is implementing as part of a strategic, collaborative approach to Southern Oregon/Northern California Coast coho and Oregon Coast coho salmon recovery.",
