  "projectDescription": "The Town of Bridgewater, TNC, Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration, USFWS and other project partners seek to restore the Town River by removing the obsolete 12.5-foot high, 80-ft long High Street Dam and replacing the flood-prone 200+-year-old High Street Bridge (original bridge: c.1726-1790) in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The High Street bridge is an old stone block with clapper stones to be replaced by a bridge span to accommodate 100-year flood flows. The project will open 10 miles (including tributaries) of unimpeded upstream access for NOAA trust resources, and improve access to 354 acres of river herring spawning and rearing habitat at Lake Nippenicket. The Taunton River and its tributaries support one of the largest populations of river herring in southern New England.",
