"projectDescription": "For the overall, multi-site award, Project SHARE, NOAA, and partners replaced ten culverts at road/stream crossings in the upper Narraguagus River watershed in coastal Maine, where restoring access to cold-water tributaries is a top priority for recovery of Endangered Species Act-listed Atlantic salmon. For this project record, Project SHARE replaced two culverts on West Branch Brook within the Narraguagus River watershed to restore access to 11.0 miles of cold-water habitat for native Atlantic salmon and brook trout and 291 acres for spawning habitat for diadromous alewives. Undersized culverts were replaced with a timber bridge at one site and an arch culvert at the other site, both with natural stream bottoms. The projects are located on private forestry land.",
