  "projectDescription": "The implementation of the bay scallop project is work undertaken in Squeteague Harbor, a sub-embayment of Megansett Harbor within the municipal jurisdiction of the Town of Bourne, MA.  The primary activity that has occurred is placing adult bay scallops in strategically-located spawner cages within the harbor.  The method  protects the animals from predators while allowing them to grow and spawn naturally with the expectation that larvae will settle and naturally recruit to the local  embayment.  The spat bag arrays and monitoring program is to quantify the extent  and timing of spawning and settlement of the population, and potential increases in the harbor-wide scallop population will be monitored through diver surveys and spat-bag monitoring.",
