  "projectDescription": "This project constructed a rocky breakwater and offshore low profile habitat shoals to promote growth and establishment of wild celery (Vallisneria americana), which serves as important spawning, nursery, and foraging habitat for a variety of game fishes and a food source for waterfowl. Woody structure composed of tree rootballs and whole trees were anchored to the breakwater and habitat shoals to create habitat for a variety of herpetofauna and fish. Concrete slabs were placed for mudpuppy spawning within deepened areas near the habitat shoals. The park is permanently protected and will be maintained long term by the Township. 740 lf of hardened shoreline was replaced with bioengineered shoreline, native plantings and 1.5 acres of nearshore habitat at Brandenburg Park along Lake St. Clair.",
