"projectDescription": "This project improved the quality of habitat for threatened Oregon Coast coho salmon, steelhead, and Chinook salmon by restoring stream complexity in three miles of Fish Creek in the Siuslaw Watershed. Historic land management practices reduced the quantity of large wood in Fish Creek. The Bureau of Land Management now manages the land as a Late-Successional Reserve, which will improve the potential for future large wood being transported to and accumulated in the stream. In order to jump start the process, stream complexity was restored by using heavy equipment to place large wood at 40 sites in Fish Creek and North Fork Fish Creek to create slow-water habitat for juvenile salmonids to rear in.",
