"projectDescription": "Through this project, partners will develop designs to modify the Pudding Creek Dam to restore passage to approximately 8 miles of core CCC coho salmon habitat. During high flow events in the winter of 2016/2017, the Pudding Creek Dam experienced a significant failure. This failure prevents access to the fish ladder for spawning adults and has neutralized the ability to conduct adult monitoring at this site. Designs will be developed to re-design and/or remove the Pudding Creek Dam to allow for efficient adult passage and to increase the extent of estuary rearing habitat for juvenile salmonids. An attempt to transfer the property to The Nature Conservancy fell through. Another effort is underway, with the City of Ft. Bragg joining conversations with the landowner Georgia-Pacific to acquire the property.",
