  "projectDescription": "The principal objective of the GulfCorps Program was to develop a Gulf-wide conservation corps that will contribute to meaningful ecosystem restoration benefiting coastal habitat and water quality, while economically benefiting coastal communities through education, job-driven training, and employment opportunities. Through this award, The Nature Conservancy recruits, trains, and employed workers to work on habitat restoration projects and develop skills in support of long-term Gulf coast restoration and stewardship.  Stewardship activities included: 1) eradication of invasive species, 2) pre-fire preparation (fuel reduction), 3) repairing trails and infrastructure, and 4) pitcher plant bog restoration.",
