  "projectDescription": "This project was a demonstration project that resulted in restored complexity of 5.1 miles of Nehalem River tributary habitat. The complexity was restored by creating 57 beaver starter dams in 7 stream reaches. In order to encourage beaver dam building at the site, vertical wood pieces and other beaver dam building materials were installed in streams that had lost complexity and hydrologic connection to the adjacent floodplains. The project restored degraded rearing and refuge habitat, which is the limiting factor in the Nehalem population of threatened Oregon Coast coho salmon.",
