"projectDescription": "The North Branch North Fork (NBNF) Navarro River Large Wood Augmentation Project (Mendocino Coast Hydrologic Unit - Phase II) introduced 98 large wood pieces along 2.25 miles of priority core recovery habitat for Central California Coast (CCC) coho salmon (a NOAA Species in the Spotlight) and steelhead trout. This increased stream geomorphic complexity and shelter values while simultaneously improving pool frequency and depth. This effort will maintain the geographic distribution of coho salmon in a system with historically strong populations of coho salmon and identified biological refugia. This project is located on Mendocino Redwood Company (MRC) property on the NBNF Navarro River, tributary to the Navarro River, which drains to the Pacific Ocean just south of Albion, CA. Funds from the NOAA Restoration Center supported previous planning activities.",
