  "projectDescription": "The North and South Rivers Watershed Association worked in partnership with the Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration to remove the Peterson Pond Dam on the Third Herring Brook, on the border of Hanover and Norwell, Massachusetts. The removal of this dam builds on downstream dam removals completed with NOAA support. The project opened an additional `1.3 miles of river habitat for migratory fish, specifically American shad, alewife, blueback herring, and American eel. Removal of this dam was completed in the fall of 2020.The project is also providing funding support to providing fish passage on the last barrier on 3rd Herring Brook at Jacobs Pond.",
