  "projectDescription": "Trout Unlimited and partners will restore floodplain hydrologic connectivity on Lawrence Creek, a tributary to the Van Duzen River and ultimately the Eel River in Northern Coastal California to provide habitat for federally threatened coho salmon, Chinook salmon and steelhead.  The objectives of the project are to assess, design, permit, and enhance two off channel, floodplain habitat restoration projects in the Lawrence Creek subbasin for a total of 5 acres of restored off channel habitat. Off-channel habitat will be restored by digging pond type features adjacent the main channel, and connecting them to Lawrence Creek to provide salmon with refuge from high winter stream flow. This is a collaborative public-private effort between Trout Unlimited, Humboldt Redwood Company (landowner/private industrial timber company), Pacific Watershed Associates, and Western Region NOAA/NMFS.",
