"projectDescription": "The Upper South Fork Noyo River Instream Wood Enhancement Project introduced 177 large wood pieces at 70 distinct sites along 2.1 miles of priority core recovery habitat for Central California Coast (CCC) coho salmon (a NOAA Species in the Spotlight) and steelhead trout. This increased stream complexity and shelter values while simultaneously improving pool frequency and depth. This effort will maintain the geographic distribution of coho salmon in a system with historically strong populations of coho salmon and identified biological refugia. This project is located on private timberland on the upper South Fork Noyo River, tributary to the Noyo River, which drains to the Pacific Ocean in Ft. Bragg, CA. Funds from the NOAA Restoration Center supported previous planning activities.",
