  "projectDescription": "This project will remove the Armstrong and Ames Pond dams which are located on the Monatiquot River, within the Fore River watershed. The project  began the design and permitting phase in the fall of 2019 and The Town of Braintree will remove the two dams in 2023. The dam removals will create immediate access to habitat for alewives and other migratory species. They will also increase community resilience by reducing the flood elevation by up to 9 feet and eliminating the threat that dam failure poses to a commuter railroad and highway.",
